The Hiker's Cabin
Our hiker's cabin is an insulated hut made of larch, pine and spruce wood. The shape of the hut, blown over from England, gives a pleasant appearance. By having a door installed on both sides, we have created more headroom and light. We have made a box bed and a sitting area ourselves. The table top can be lowered to create a second double bed, drawers are placed under the box bed for storage space. Four people can easily play a game at the table. Outside on the west side of the hut is a terrace from where you can enjoy the sunset.
Use kitchen
It is not possible to cook in the hut, but there is a kettle ready for you. If you enjoy preparing a meal, you can do so in the common room. For a small fee you can use the stove, including pots and pans.
Bedding
The box bed in the hiker's cabin has a slatted base and thick mattresses. The sofas in the sitting area have lovely cushions that can be used as a mattress.
With a bottom sheet, guests can easily sleep on this in their own sleeping bags. But for those without sleeping bags, there is always the option to rent duvets and bed linen.
sanitary
We have completely renovated our sanitary facilities. We have overhauled the old wagon shed and fitted it with underfloor heating. For guests of the hiker's cabin we have made a separate room with a double shower and a sunschower. this space is also available for disabled guests.
All showers are equipped with a heat recovery unit from the Dutch brand DSS. The mixer taps at the washbasins are equipped with a so‑called "cold start" to ensure that you only tap hot water if you wish. We have given the kitchen area a larger countertop with two sinks and a place to cook. We have tried to make it fresh and spacious, yet homely and we were helped by Kupan who produced the doors, door panels, washbasins and the kitchen unit for us.

Pets, smoking and open fire are not allowed in and around the hiker's cabin.

Our countryside campsite, located between the meadows of the outskirts of Jubbega, has a beautiful view over the scenic landscape for which the Frisian Woods are known. By placing the hiker's hut in the tree wall around our campsite with a terrace on the outside, a feeling of space and freedom is created.
